MARBLE SHADES
French designer Sophie Dries has been working together with the Belgian marble company Van Den Weghe on the idea of color shades on marble to create a true color gradient, "dégradé".
A gradient of several colors will be exhibited on marble samples, either on travertine, ceppo & carrara stones will be shown to display the mesmerizing collection, available at Van Den Weghe.
The sculptural objects are compact, carved in a massive block and useful as stools or small side table (40 x 40 x 45 cm) inside as well outside.
Inspired by Brancusi sculptures, the durer melancholia polygon and color shades of James Turell. These designs are a bridge between alchemy & nature wonders, sculpture & function, physical object & virtual illusions.
